In my tradition of making my own designs for every gym leader (and eventually, every member of the Elite four) I present to you my redesigns for the Unova Gym Leaders! I did not remove anyone from the roster--they got changed enough between black/white and black/white 2--just an addition to Roxie's gym!
~The first gym leader is Cheren, now a fully fledged gym leader and no longer nervous about battles. He is also a teacher at the pokemon trainer school in Aspertia City. He uses normal types, with his main pokemon being Herdier! He hands out the basic badge.
~Roxie has always been the gym leader of Virbank City, and she has always been the lead guitarist and vocalist of her band: 'Koffing and the Toxics,' and now, she can do both at the same time! Her other band members (just call them Viper, on guitar, and Kobra, on drums) have signed on to help the Virbank gym become the only triple-battle gym in Unova. All specializing in poison types, Roxie's main pokemon is Whirlipede. Viper uses a Seviper-after which she fashioned her guitar-- and Kobra uses the Koffing stage--the namesake of their band! They give out the Toxic Badge.
~Burgh is still the third gym leader out of Castelia City, one of the largest in the world. He specializes in bug types with his partner Leavanny! Aside from his gym leader duties, Burgh has been setting aside more time to get back into painting. One of the reasons he loves Castelia is for its many different settings and diverse backgrounds! He gives the Insect badge to winning trainers.
~Elesa is still bringing her model looks and couture fashion to her runway gym in Nimbasa City! Even though she loves to change up her look, she still uses electric types with her main pokemon being Zebstrika! She gives victorious trainers the bolt badge.
~Aside from running the Driftveil City gym with Excadrill and his other ground-types, and aside from owning and running the twist mountain excavation business, Clay has actually found time to run for President of the Unova region, with debates already well underway with his opponents: Drayden and Lenora! He believes that Unova needs a strong and wealthy business man to get the economy back on track! He can be very arrogant and insulting to a lot of people in order to get what he wants. (Sound like someone familiar? Hint: rhymes with dump...)
~Skyla is still practicing using flying types in her Mistralton City Gym. She still uses Swanna as her favorite partner, and she still gives out the Jet Badge to winning trainers. However, her new battle style in her gym involves having opponents face her minion trainers in the fuselage of an aircraft; then, the battle with Skyla involves two phases; the first being on the ground, and the second is after the plane takes off, and you challenge Skyla on the top of a moving aircraft; this means that you can only use pokemon that know fly to battle Skyla!
~Drayden is still the resident gym leader of Opelucid City, taking on the task when Iris moved on to Unova Champion! He is the master of dragon types, with Druddigon as his main partner. Now, Drayden has already served as mayor of Opelucid, and the people of the city respect him. Therefore, Drayden decided to campaign for President of the Unova Region, alongside Clay and Lenora. He brings his lifetime of civil service and political career to the table, and he was involved from the beginning with the war against Team Plasma. (Guess which real life candidate Drayden is...hint: rhymes with distillery...)
~The last gym leader is Marlon, the carefree ocean adventurer from Himilau City! Still the master of water types Jellicent and his other pokemon. Marlon truly is one with the ocean, and will dissapear for long periods of time by himself. Of course, he has access to the best scuba gear and equipment, but he prefers to go free diving to be closer to nature. On these aquatic escapades, Marlon will bring all of his gear with him: his nets, flippers, fresh water, goggles, and a waterproof bag that carries the rest of his...ahem...clothes in case he needs them. I was also thinking that Marlons gym battle would kind of be like Skyla's, meaning that the first part of the battle would be normal, and then the last part would proceed underwater, using only pokemon that can know surf, or even dive. The last gym badge given to trainers, and qualifying them for the Pokemon League is the Wave badge!
(Honorable mention for Lenora, who i've mentioned a couple times. She is a gym leader alum hailing from Nacrene City. She is also running for President of the Unova region against Clay and Drayden. She is also a curator of the Nacrene museum, and she is very involved in upholding the culture and values of the Unova Region. She is very popular among young people who want equality and for big corporations and the super rich to be held for their fair share! (Rounding out the tri-fecta of presidential candidates that reflect the actual candidates running for Pres. of the U.S!
